Meet your School Counselor!

Hello! I’m Rachael Trusler, and I’m so thankful to serve as the School Counselor at Roan Creek Elementary. I graduated from East Tennessee State University in 2013 with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. Since then, I’ve been blessed to work with children and families across Johnson and Carter Counties - offering social-emotional support, helping folks connect with basic needs and community resources, and walking alongside them through life’s ups and downs.

In 2021, I became a School Social Worker, and that experience grew my love for helping students in the school setting. It also led me to pursue my Master of Education in School Counseling through Liberty University. I truly believe every child deserves to feel seen, heard, and encouraged. My hope is that every student who walks through my door knows they have someone who cares about them and is cheering them on. Whether it’s through individual counseling, small groups, classroom lessons, crisis support, or simply being a listening ear - I want to help students build confidence, learn healthy ways to cope, and develop the skills they need to be successful in school and in life. I believe the best support happens when schools and families work together as a team.

When I’m not at school, I’m a wife and mom to three boys. Our family loves spending time outdoors and enjoying all the beauty that surrounds us. I’m grateful to be part of the Roan Creek family, and I look forward to getting to know and supporting each of you!
